Email from a Fine Tune CB local: His “Tune” is him talking from a mountaintop. [Updated x2]

One of his locals writes in:

I am in Deming and we have had him come thru here harassing people about their equipment and some of the other locals are really tired of him. What he does is goes up in the hills south of Lordsburg and from there you can hit a really big stretch of I10 in either direction for 40-50 miles easily. We don’t have any of his bullshit fancy tunes or anything but we can hear him and even talk to him from Deming all the way to Lordsburg which is at least 60 miles. Look at a map of this area. It’s flat! We are in the desert! If you go out towards Lordburg and it’s dead quiet. It’s pretty quiet here in Deming, too. There is nothing out there. Some of us out here are glad you are writing this blog and covering this asshole. Maybe he will listen to his locals and shut the fuck up for a change. All he does is harass people on the I10. Look at most of his videos. He is up on rimrock south of Lordsburg all the time. From there you can easy hit Deming. He is full of shit!

I looked for a line of sight tool and found out where this rimrock that’s south of Lordsburg is and it’s “RimRock Mountain” on a map. It’s not that high compared to it’s surroundings.

Only a few hundred feet:

The left is the center of town in Deming, NM and the right is Lordsburg, NM near some ghost town he posted in one of his more recent videos so we know this is where he is going. You can look at the videos and the google street views where they are available and match the places exactly. As you can see, he has total line of sight for over 50 miles to Deming, NM which is 50+ miles down Interstate 10 and he has LOS going well into western Arizona along Interstate 10.

Think about it. a 50+ watt radio in a high elevation relative to your surroundings. Line of sight. No wonder he has these 40-50 mile conversations. That’s not a tune job, that’s using terrain to your advantage. We have all done this for nearly a century. Height is king, remember?

Where is your “Integrity” in your videos when you don’t tell your customers you are on top of a damn mountain in the desert claiming it’s a tune when the real deal is that you are in the desert tens of miles from the nearest noise sources?

INTEGRITY!!!!!!!! where is it?

Update:

It seems that he decided to make a video about this blog post! That video is here:

The thumbnail says “40 plus miles over a mountain” but as noted above,
HE IS ON THE MOUNTAIN!

Look at the video… look at the street views. He is driving around on this “RimRock” mountain place!

INTEGRITY? Not so much. Get some dude. The lie is LITERALLY ON VIDEO!
You need to work harder. This rebuttal sucks.

Update 2:

Fine Tune reading the blog, claiming this miraculous feat of “tuning” where he sits on a mountain with a high powered radio.

  1. He was probably high, lab probably exploded or something. I feel bad for the dog, he calls him Mofo, probably what his daddy called him when he was growing up.

  2. He aint shit.. haha talking from a mountain. Simple trick for simple minds, thinks it clever. But no, most idiots know that trick by the end of their first week on the air so it’s not so any sort of secret sauce he’s got going. Anyone with a whip on their vehicle and a 50W PEP setup can almost do 40-50 miles over ‘rough’ terrain, and I mean from the Southwest side of Fort Worth to the Southeast side of Big D, across the hills, although I say almost because they’d be real weak, not line of sight. A shitted-in radio would not help a marginal communication, the correct thing to do is use an amplifier. What ‘big radios’ are for is when comms are marginal. So why make it sound like shit all the time? Having proper set up rig with a 100W carrier and hitting 400W peaks, (or even 3dB more of each) it would be clear across DFW and not sound so like shit as his square wave cut off bastardized harmonica-spewing radios even if they had any power. Why oh why, do people want him to shit-up their radios, it’s not the right thing to do. It’s Hood-Rat Ghetto. He makes money by steering people into a fucked radio cause its easy for him, instead of being a man and selling them an amplifier, matching the added attenuator or whatever to their radio, and leaving the radio mostly alone, so they have a reasonable or ‘book’ key-to-peak ratio and are very clear, like a real AM station. So he’s not about shit and not understanding real principles of AM, to be making this grandiose claim for a child’s-level line of sight communication accomplishment. Too bad too bad I was not there sneekin around the mountain to cut his lips off with a little 100W push. Or just wait til he keyed and go on high around 1K, BIRD not fuck you CB watts, and fuck his radio till the smoke comes out then laugh about it. Not because I am mean, but because he spews misleading shit and is annoying people in Deming, which I like because of the restaurant at the truck stop. I like Deming, need no other reason. There is/was the Desert Sky Cafe there at the Deming truck stop. Always stopped there for chow as it was 24 hours, and late at night there’d be a chance of spotting some illegals hiding out behind there, ya know, having the ‘buffet’. hehe but I never had ought to do with ’em. Lot of characters in that place deep in the night. Don’t fuck with Deming.
