Response from President Electronics USA about Fine Tune CB claims: Very, very few warranty repairs.

Is anyone surprised that Fine Tune is perpetuating a myth to sell Max Mods and ERF2030s? Before you think that the warranty period is short, think again. The warranty period offered by President is TWO YEARS. It is extended an additional THREE YEARS to a total of FIVE YEARS if you have a president antenna to go with your radio. That’s a really long time. If the FQP13N10s in these radios were to “detonate” as he alleges I think we would see widespread reports of it.
From the horses mouth @ President Electronics USA:

Thank you for contacting us.
As you mention the company does not provide sales figures externally.
In our warranty work we have never seen or heard of this type of issue. We can assure you the Warranty repair numbers is almost negligible.

I would like to thank Joby from President Electronics USA for his quick response.
I also received several emails from readers that own President Lincoln IIs and have for several years without issue.
Also of note is how many people are happy with their Lincoln II radios.
An email sent into the blog describes how President bent over backwards to get his radio repaired and was very pleased.
One common thread here is that President appears to have one of the most generous warranty policies in the industry.

It’s too bad that the likes of Fine Tune try to tear them down with this fake news story of exploding FQP13N10s in the Lincoln II.

  1. Not to mention Stryker has a 3 year as well. And Shawn doesn’t frown upon modifications unless they directly cause the damage to the radio. In that case, your warranty won’t cover the repair and you’ll have to pay out of pocket.

Gonna go from Fine Tune to Fine Fail to Finally Failed when the truth keeps pouring in. Try not to choke Sherman…
